Program of Studies - Grade 8
The eighth grade Art course is a twelve week course. Throughout the twelve weeks, I will guide students to express themselves creatively through drawing, graphics, painting, ceramic sculpture, and jewelry ( jewelry will require metalworking skills and help to develop basic concepts).
This course will build on compositions, techniques, elements and principles of design obtained in Grade 6 and Grade 7. In addition to building on previous course structure students will learn how to pay attention to detail during these more advanced projects.
Lessons in art history, art appreciation, and art criticism are integrated into all of the lessons as a framework of the curriculum geared toward building a well rounded individual.
Please Note:
This is the LAST mandatory art class that students will be required to complete.
All aditional art classes offered at North Allegheny Intermediate and Norht Allegheny High Schools are only electives.
